ABOUT THE AUTHOR

   Rick Schwartz lives in Springfield, Virginia. He is a graduate of
Salisbury University in Maryland. Mr. Schwartz is an associate
member of the American Meteorological Society, a member of the
National Weather Association and a member of the National Earth
Science Teachers Association.
 After waiting nearly four decades for a book like this, he wrote it
himself. Hurricanes and the Middle Atlantic States is a product
of nearly seven years of tireless research, hunting for anecdotes,
conducting interviews and visiting numerous libraries. The result:     
      After 400 years, residents of the Mid-Atlantic states have a
hurricane history book they can call their own.
